Oh man, you know what this thing brings to mind?

Catoblepas!

...or is mixing in other fantasy creatures considered a form of stealing? Then again, I'm not sure how pervasive the Catoblepas are, so... :p

"Before humans arrived in Kroel, KACSON thrived in huge herds that blanketed the plains with a green and red spiky mass which, given that each had the strength and speed of a railroad engine, was a force to be reckoned with. However, because they stored a lot of water in their pith, KACSON were hunted en masse by thirsty settlers, leading to a heavy decline in their numbers; only recently have they been reintroduced into the Safari Zone, in a collaborated effort to protect them from extinction."
